GCYS Mobile Support Services is funded by the QLD Department of Housing & Public Works and supports young people aged 16 to 25 or are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
There are many reasons why someone may not be able to, or find it very difficult to, get to our Miami Service Hub however, GCYS is committed to ensuring that all young people within our region have access to the support they need; so this is where the Mobile Support Team forms an integral part of the services we provide. The Mobile Support Team also work collaboratively with a range of service providers to co locate and enhance ease of access for young people in need.
The Mobile Support Team provide both interim and longer term case management support with the aim of reducing the number of young people who are homeless, or who may experience homelessness, by helping them to:
1. Obtain Housing
2. Maintain their housing
3. Maximise their capacity to be independent, self-reliant and connected to appropriate social and community supports
Participation in the MSS program is voluntary, please ensure you have obtained the young person's consent before making a referral to our program.
